Outlander star Sam Heughan had This Morning hosts Philip Schofield and Holly Willoughby in stitches after offering a piece of advice when speaking about his hit show Outlander.
Speaking on the ITV Breakfast show ahead of the global premiere of the latest series of the hit show, which returns to our screens on March 6 for a sixth season, Holly stated that when she watches it she can only focus on how stressful life is on Fraser's Ridge.
Stating that whenever she watches Sam's character Jamie Fraser and Caitriona Balfe's Claire Fraser she noticed that they never get a "quiet moment" together.
Sam then pipes up responding: "All he wants is to be at home with his family and have a quiet dram."
Then hitting upon a moment of realisation he adds a sage piece of advice: "Actually, I would just say never marry someone from the future I don't think it's the way to a peaceful life."
The quip had Holly and Phil in stitches, with show fan Holly adding: "It doesn't work out well."
The Scot also added that he reckons his friendship with co-star Caitriona Balfe is "much like" This Morning's Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield.
He described his relationship with Cait as like being a "couple who have grown up together".
One delighted fan posted: "Great to see Sam on UK tv! More please! "
While another added: "Oh wow, another dose of Jamie, how perfect is Sam in this role?"
