Former Leeds United defender Leif Davis has revealed his major gratitude to everyone involved with the club following his move to Ipswich Town. Davis has penned a three-and-a-half-year-deal at Portman Road to bring his four-year stay at Elland Road to an end.
The 22-year-old joined the club from Morecambe in 2018 and initially linked up with Leeds’ U23s side, before progressing into the first team under Marcelo Bielsa. He made his debut in the memorable 3-2 win at Aston Villa in December 2018, before making three league appearances in the promotion winning campaign.
Davis was handed the chance to impress under Jesse Marsch during pre-season after his loan spell at Bournemouth last term. However, with just one-year left on his deal, and for a fee believed to be in the region of £1 million, Leeds have made the decision to allow him to depart.

Writing on his official Instagram, Davis explained that his time at Leeds is something he’ll never take for granted and has claimed the ‘feeling’ of walking out at Elland Road will stay with him forever.
He said: “Being at Leeds United was never taken lightly and has been such a big part of my journey and growth so far. I’ve made some friends for life and will never forget the feeling of the roar at Elland Rd and the passion of the fans at the stadium and beyond.
“It’s time for me to move on. I just want to say THANK YOU to all the staff, players, fans and all connected with the club for your support whether it’s been big or small. Leeds will always have a place in my heart. I wish everyone well and lots of success in the future.”
