Neve Campbell To Reprise Iconic Role In Scream Franchise Sequel

Scream 7 upcoming movie

Neve Campbell, the actress known for her role as Sidney Prescott in the Scream franchise, has announced her return to the iconic horror series. In an Instagram post, Campbell shared her excitement about reprising her role, stating, 'Sidney Prescott is coming back!!!' She expressed her enduring appreciation for the Scream movies and her pride in being asked to bring Sidney back to the screen.

Kevin Williamson, the original writer of the 1996 Scream movie, is set to direct the upcoming seventh installment. Campbell expressed her long-held desire to work with Williamson, highlighting his creative vision as the driving force behind the Scream universe.

Williamson, in his own Instagram post, reflected on the evolution of the Scream franchise over the past 30 years and expressed gratitude for the opportunity to direct the seventh film alongside Campbell.

Campbell's return to the Scream series comes after she opted out of the sixth film in 2023 due to a contractual disagreement. However, she had previously hinted at the possibility of returning if the terms were right, emphasizing the importance of feeling valued for her contributions to the franchise.

The seventh Scream film has faced challenges, including the departure of lead actress Melissa Barrera and subsequent exit of director Christopher Landon. Despite these setbacks, the anticipation among fans for the return of Sidney Prescott remains high.

As Neve Campbell and Kevin Williamson gear up to bring the beloved character back to the screen, Scream enthusiasts eagerly await the next chapter in the iconic horror series.
