Nicole Cannizzaro (D) and Adriana Guzmán Fralick (R) are running in the general election for attorney general of Nevada on Nov. 3. Incumbent Aaron Ford (D) is term-limited and running for governor of Nevada.
A major theme heading into the election is the attorney general's role in suing the federal government. The Nevada Independent's Eric Neugeboren writes, "But with two years left in Trump's second term, the next attorney general will face a key question: Keep up the deluge of lawsuits against the federal administration or scale them back? ... Cannizzaro said she would 'absolutely' sue the administration, while Guzmán Fralick said that 'some were necessary and I'm behind all that, but the majority of them, I think, were just politically driven.'"
In August 2026, Sabato's Crystal Ball's Louis Jacobson shifted his rating of the office from toss-up to leans Democratic, writing, "State Senate Majority Leader Nicole Cannizzaro won the Democratic primary with surprising ease, giving her momentum heading into the general election against Adriana Guzmán Fralick, a low-profile ally of Republican Gov. Joe Lombardo. Fralick has a good reputation but will need Lombardo’s help to raise money and stay competitive with Cannizzaro."
