Netflix viewers have confessed that they are secretly excited about the return of the Teletubbies to Netflix next month. The streaming giant announced that they would be reviving the popular children's show earlier this year.
The familiar foursome - Tinky Winky, Dipsy, Laa-Laa and Po, will be back, joined by their trusty sidekick Noo Noo. There will also be a new Sun Baby rising over the hills as well as baby versions of themselves called Tiddly Tubbies.
Now, with the release of the first trailer, fans are confessing their secret excitement for the show on social media.
One fan, who retweeted the trailer, said: "I feel so embarrassed for saying this, but I am kinda excited about this Brings back so many memories.
"I would love to watch this with a group of adults while we're all drunk. Who's in?!" she added.
Another fan said: "If you are logged into my Netflix and you see 'continue watching Teletubbies … please mind your business." And to put it simply, one fan just said: "I am so excited."
A third said: "There is going to be a new Teletubbies series on Netflix. Ngl I am very excited."
Many loved the trip back on memory lane, confessing that it was their favourite childhood show. One user said: "I grew up with The Teletubbies. I love them."
However, as with most things, not everyone was thrilled at the idea. Many were seen to complain that the streaming giant should have invested the funds in improving their existing shows and services.
"Netflix cancelled so many potentially great shows and movies," complained a user. "But we're like 'Hell yeah, Teletubbies! Fund that s***!'."
Another reasoned: "Nice to see all that money going into Netflix [is] to make Teletubbies instead of improving the service."
The trailer, which dropped earlier today, is very reminiscent of the classic children's TV show. The noticeable difference is that the original narrator, Tim Whitnall, has been replaced with Emmy Award-winner Tituss Burgess.
The beloved TV show will release on Netflix Jr on November 14th. It will join a handful of new releases aimed at toddlers.
It will join Spirit Rangers, an animated series about a group of children who defend the spirits of their native national park, which began last week. Princess Power, an adaptation of an American novel called Princesses Wear Pants, is to follow next year.
