Netflix The Crown’s Will and Kate seen in first-look snaps from season six

Netflix has unveiled new pictures of Prince William and Kate Middleton in the upcoming series of The Crown. The first-look photos from the series’ hotly anticipated sixth and final season take viewers to Scotland in the early 2000s in the early days of the royal couple’s relationship.

Netflix has said that in the new season, Prince William (Ed McVey) is starting university at St. Andrews, where he hopes to lead as normal a life as possible before taking up his royal responsibilities. Little does he know that the future for the crown begins right on campus, when he meets fellow student Kate Middleton (Meg Bellamy).

One of the new snaps sees a smiling Will and Kate casually dressed while walking hand-in-hand around Scotland. The prince is wearing a knitted-style navy-blue jumper with denim jeans, while Kate sports a grey jumper and denim jeans.

A behind-the-scenes photo also shows the two actors out of costume and posing outside a St. Andrews café where a sign reads: “Where Kate met Wills.”

Newcomer Bellamy, 19, landed the role of the future Princess of Wales after submitting an audition tape for the role after seeing a casting call on social media. The series also marks 23-year-old McVey’s on-screen debut after stage performances at The Old Vic and Hammersmith Riverside Studios following his graduation from the Drama Centre London in 2021.
