Surely not, we hear you cry. But it’s true – unless you spend ages scrolling (and who has time for that?) all suggestions flashing before your eyes are merely based on previous things you’ve watched, or added to your list.
This means there’s a massive number of films and movies you’ve simply never stumbled across.
So how do we unlock all this buried treasure?
The answer lies in simple codes, and plenty of them.
Just simply inputting a small amount of digits will make searching through Netflix a lot easier for you.
These codes correspond to fairly precise genres, such as ‘movies based on children’s books’ or ‘sports comedies’. Enter the code and the relevant genre with all its films or tv shows is all there for you in one place.
No more endless scrolling for you!
To do this, you just need to visit each genre’s webpage by typing or copy and pasting this into your browser: http://www.netflix.com/browse/genre/
Then follow this by any of the codes listed below.
So for example if you wanted to see what Netflix offers in the way of Asian Action Moves – which is first on the list - type in https://www.netflix.com/gb/browse/genre/ 77232
Currently, this neat trick only works on the website version of Netflix, so put away that phone or tablet!
BUT if you use the streaming platform on a TV, you can simply type the code in the 'search' bar.
