In a surprising turn of events, a 2022 thriller called Mindcage, starring Martin Lawrence and Melissa Roxburgh, has found unexpected success on Netflix. Despite initially receiving mixed reviews and limited attention upon its release, the film has now climbed its way into Netflix's Global Top 10 for the week of January 22-28, 2023.
Released in 2022, Mindcage revolves around two detectives who turn to an incarcerated serial killer known as the Artist for assistance when a copycat killer emerges. Alongside Lawrence and Roxburgh, the film features an impressive cast including John Malkovich, Robert Knepper, Jacob Grodnik, and Aiden Turner. It's worth noting that Roxburgh is also recognized for her role as Michaela Stone in the popular series Manifest, which released its final season on Netflix in 2023.
