In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Kim revealed that the live-action series has already made alterations to the show's timeline. Unlike the original animated series, which takes place over the course of one year, the live-action adaptation had to account for the aging of its young cast between potential future seasons. As a result, the exact time range of the show has been removed, and one major plot point, Sozin's Comet, has been temporarily eliminated.
