The Witcher’s last season left many fans aching for more, and we might finally have some idea of where the plot is heading.
On Monday, Netflix revealed the official plot summary for Season 3 of The Witcher.
“As monarchs, mages, and beasts of the Continent compete to capture her, Geralt takes Ciri of Cintra into hiding, determined to protect his newly-reunited family against those who threaten to destroy it,” the synopsis reads on Twitter. “Entrusted with Ciri’s magical training, Yennefer leads them to the protected fortress of Aretuza, where she hopes to discover more about the girl’s untapped powers; instead, they discover they’ve landed in a battlefield of political corruption, dark magic, and treachery. They must fight back, put everything on the line or risk losing each other forever.”
Work on Season 3 began earlier this year. Alongside the plot details, Netflix also shared a production photo which you can check out below.

That might be the only time we’ve seen Geralt, Yennefer, and Ciri relax together in ages. Yes, it’s just the actors, but whatever — this is my headcanon, since they went through hell last season.
While Season 3 likely isn’t coming until 2023, it’ll probably drop way before CD Projekt Red’s forthcoming Witcher game.
