Netflix has unveiled the trailer for the highly-anticipated series 'Dead Boy Detectives,' based on the characters from the Neil Gaiman-created comic book of the same name. The show follows the adventures of Edwin Payne and Charles Rowland, two teenage ghosts who form the Dead Boy Detectives agency to solve mysteries.
Edwin and Charles, born in different eras, forge a strong friendship in the afterlife and are determined to stay together at all costs. Their investigations lead them to confront evil forces such as witches, hell, and even Death herself. Assisting them in their supernatural sleuthing are the clairvoyant Crystal and her friend Niko.
The series boasts a talented cast including George Rexstrew, Jayden Revri, Kassius Nelson, Yuyu Kitamura, Jenn Lyon, Briana Cuoco, Ruth Connell, Lukas Gage, and David Iacono. 'Dead Boy Detectives' is set within the same universe as 'The Sandman,' another Neil Gaiman creation that premiered in August 2022.
Steve Yockey, the mastermind behind the show's adaptation for television, also penned the first episode and serves as a showrunner alongside Beth Schwartz. The executive producing team features Greg Berlanti, Jeremy Carver, Sarah Schechter, Leigh London Redman, and Neil Gaiman himself. The inaugural episode was directed and executive produced by Lee Toland Krieger.
The Dead Boy Detectives made their debut in a 1991 issue of 'The Sandman' and have since made appearances in various comic book series. The upcoming show promises to deliver a thrilling blend of mystery, supernatural elements, and strong character dynamics.
'Dead Boy Detectives' is a production of Berlanti Productions in collaboration with Warner Bros. Television. Fans of Neil Gaiman's imaginative storytelling can look forward to diving into this intriguing new series when it premieres on Netflix.
