Netflix plan involving Nottingham Forest update emerges after talks

An offer from Netflix to make a behind-the-scenes documentary featuring all 20 top-flight clubs has reportedly been rejected by the Premier League.

Whilst Nottingham Forest's top-flight status for next season remains unknown, the Reds could potentially have been involved in a fly-on-the-wall series similar to Formula One's Drive to Survive.

The series would have involved behind-the-scenes access and interviews with players and senior figures in the game meaning that fans could have had unprecedented access to Forest's dressing room during a Premier League campaign.

But those plans have been scrapped according to the Athletic who report that despite talks being underway for many months, negotiations have broken down and no such series will be made.

Mail Online report that the league's decision to reject the offer was confirmed at a shareholders’ meeting in London on Thursday. They also report that concerns were expressed about the amount of access to players and staff Netflix would demand, as well as the logistical challenges posed by an operation involving all 20 clubs.

Forest continue their fight to stay in the Premier League next season with a crucial match against fellow relegation strugglers Wolves on Saturday. Steve Cooper's side then travel to Leeds United three days later in another relegation six-pointer.
