How many of us don't subscribe to at least one streaming service? With the entirety of Disney+, Netflix, Now TV, and Amazon Prime, why ever leave the house again?
Last year, we spent an average of £620 on subscriptions according to Barclaycard Payments - a huge rise of 12% from the previous year, according to Which. A survey found eight in 10 households had at least one service, most commonly for music or films, at 46%.
Subscriptions services have also upped their prices - so you're not getting the same amount for your cash as you used to. But how you cut down on the mounting costs without cutting down on your enjoyment?
One trick recommended by Which is rotating your subscriptions. This means subscribing to one streaming service when you want to watch a show or film only they have, watching their content for a month, then cancelling and starting a subscription with a new streaming service. As you're unlikely to equally consume all their content every month, it means you can watch a range of films and TV shows from all of them but not pay for all of them every month.
They all also allow you to cancel monthly subscriptions for free so it comes at no extra cost.
If you subscribed to both Disney+ and Netflix, you would pay £227.76 a year in total. But, if you alternated months you would pay just £113.88 a year for six months of each.
