Netflix has claimed levies “penalise audiences” and “diminish competitiveness” in response to a report from the Culture, Media and Sport (CMS) Committee which suggested a levy for streaming companies.
The CMS report urged the government to ramp up support measures for the UK’s drama sector while safeguarding the creation of distinctly British content, with tax breaks also among the recommendations put forward.
