NetEase Games announced that it has partnered with Marvel Games for the upcoming title Marvel Rivals. This is a cooperative and Super Hero Team-Based PVP Shooter where players get to form an all-star squad of Super Heroes and Super Villains. They then get to fight it out on destructible maps from across the Marvel Universe. There's no release date yet revealed but the game is going to be available for the PC.
Marvel Rivals begins in a fight between the dictator Doctor Doom and his future counterpart from the year 2099. This merciless clash has resulted in universes colliding in the Timestream Entanglement and has resulted not only in creating new worlds but also crises that are still unknown. Super Heroes and Super Villains from across the multiverse now have to fight together and against one another as disparate groups try to defeat both Dooms before one of them achieves domination of the different realities. Familiar faces now become newfound foes while former enemies are now the greatest of allies.
In the game, players get to choose from a wide range of fan-favorite and cult-classic Marvel Super Heroes and Super Villains. That means the likes of the Avengers, Guardians of the Galaxy, and X-Men, to name a few.
Once you choose your team and enter the fight, there's sure to never be a dull moment. That's because players can enjoy the intricate environments, fast-paced gameplay, and even ever-changing battlefields. Players can look forward to tearing their way across different iconic worlds in the Marvel Universe from Asgard to Tokyo of 2099. With their superpowers, it's possible to alter these environments and reshape the terrain, all to have that strategic advantage.
Join the battle as characters having incredible abilities and combine powers to bring unexpected fun to the battlefield in a matter of seconds. Come up with unique combinations between characters and release those Team-Up Skills. In addition to the synergy of combined superpowers, players can also invent new tactics which are sure to turn the tide of combat. For example, players can choose Rocket Raccoon and then ride on Groot's back and destroy enemies as a dangerous duo. They can also play as Hulk and then release Gamma energy to charge Iron Man's armor to deal massive damage. These are just some of the things to do in the game.
A closed alpha for Marvel Rivals is scheduled in May. For this alpha test, players can access more than a dozen playable characters that include Black Panther, Spider-Man, Magneto, and Magik. You can sign up here.
