Netanyahu calls delegates ‘moral cowards’ during mass walkout at UN speech

• Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu delivered a defiant speech at the United Nations General Assembly Thursday, forcefully denying allegations of genocide in Gaza and calling them the “lie of the century.”
• A mix of cheers, boos and mass walkouts ensued as Netanyahu walked up to the podium. Scores of delegates left and a majority of seats sat empty, hours after the Palestinian Mission to the U.N. had urged delegations to walk out during Netanyahu’s speech.
• “If there are any other moral cowards who have not yet left the hall, please do so now,” Netanyahu said in response.
• He went on to defend his decision to attack Iran, describing it as “one of the easiest decisions” he has ever had to make while addressing world leaders.
• Netanyahu also took aim at New York Mayor Zohran Mamdani, who has accused him of being a war criminal and called for his arrest.
