Nestlé has recalled three of its popular hot chocolate products amid safety fears. According to the Food Standards Agency the AERO Hot Choc jars, AERO 'Hot Choc' sachets and AERO Go Insatant 'Hot Choc' might call small pieces of food-grade silica beads making them unsafe to eat.
The affected products are: AERO Hot Choc jars, pack size 288, all batch codes and all date codes; AERO 'Hot Choc' sachets, pack size 24g, all batch codes and all date codes and AERO Go Insatant 'Hot Choc', pack size 28g with all batch and date codes.
In its product recall notice the manufacturer said: "Nestle UK & Ireland is voluntarily recalling the above AERO Hot chocolate products including all batch codes and dates. This action is being taken as it has come to our attention that a very small number of packs may contain small (2mm-3mm) food-grade silica beads. The beads are non-toxic but could present a minimal choking risk.
