The devastating Nepal Flash Floods have claimed at least 626 lives this week across the Himalayan nation. Nepal has prioritized targeted technical rescue assistance over general aid, with Foreign Minister Shisir Khanal confirming the approval of specialized tunnel rescue and DNA experts from countries including South Korea, India, China, and Japan.

A catastrophic glacier collapse triggered a massive wave of mud on Wednesday. Debris rapidly blocked a river near the Gyirong border crossing. This created a natural dam that threatened to unleash a second wall of water downstream.
