CHENNAI: The very first match in the sixth edition of the Tamil Nadu Premier League --- between Chepauk Super Gillies and Nellai Royal Kings --- went into the Super Over at Tirunelveli on Thursday.

After both teams finished on 184, the Super Over saw Nellai chase down the target of 10 set by Chepauk to log in the first points of the season. Nellai medium-pacer Athisayaraj Davidson gave away 9 runs, and in reply, Sanjay Yadav (7 n.o.) and G Ajitesh (1 n.o.) held their nerve as their side crossed the finish line in the fifth ball of the over.
