Neighbours star Kate Keltie has shared some major news following her stage four cancer diagnosis.
The actress has revealed that she is now cancer free following her chemotherapy treatment last year - just four months after she said she was in a "fight for her life" after her stage four diagnosis.
Kate found fame playing Michelle Scully in the popular Australian soap.
The 37-year-old responded well to the treatment and updated a GoFundMe page, which had been set up to raise funds for her with the good news.
She wrote: "I recently received results of my latest scan and was told that there had been a complete metabolic response to diseased areas.
"In other words, it seems I am cancer-free."
The fundraising page has now been deactivated after achieving its goal.
It raised a total of $37,000 which was $12,000 more than its original target.
Holly Candy, who is known as Holly Valance and played Kate's on-screen sister Felicity for five years between 1999-2004, donated $2,000 to her friend.
Kate thanked everyone for their support while she went through the difficult time.
She said: "Hi everyone. I am so sorry I haven't had a chance to thank you all personally yet- stay with me, I'll get there!
"I just wanted to say thank you, thank you, thank you for all of your support, and messages and phone calls.
Kate added: "It's so amazing to know I have so many incredible people in my corner.
"I've just got over COVID and I start my first round of chemotherapy tomorrow, and you really have no idea how my head space has changed going into it because of each and every one of you."
She concluded: "Thank you, from the bottom of my heart. Kate x."
Many Neighbours fans, including some from the UK, supported Kate through her cancer diagnoses.
It's thought that Kate took a step back from the world of acting in 2008 and went on to work in legal support in a law firm before moving into the recruitment-support industry.
Kate's first acting role was when she was just eight-years-old before going on to star in multiple shows.
