A group of neighbours have had their say about what they would like to see in place of the site of a former "dodgy pub" where "undesirable people went". Nottingham City Council is looking to sell land surrounding the former Toll Bridge Inn at the Victoria Embankment.
In a delegated decision, it has been proposed the site be declared "surplus to the council's requirements and to sell the freehold interest to the developer of the adjacent former Toll Bridge Inn site".
The Toll Bridge, a 1960s former Home Ales tied house, was demolished a number of years ago. The cleared plot is located near the entrance to the Victoria Embankment by the Wilford Toll Bridge.

Many said they are seeking "something that would bring the community spirit back". Leo Theobold, a web developer, added: "It was pretty dodgy. The food was awful."
The 50 year old said: "It was just a place where very, very undesirable people went. The pub itself was not the problem, but it just went downhill."
However, Mr Theobold said "there is nowhere to go apart from a couple of shops". He added: "There is nothing that would bring the community here. We need a community space - something to bring the community spirit back."
Tasha Marshall has shared some "great memories" from the times when the pub was up and running. The 44 year old added: "My husband had my 40th birthday there. It was sad that it had to close - I remember it was something to do with the costs.
"But I think this place is missing a community space - something for the people, like a community cafe. It could be okay if they kept it as a green space as well."
Jonathan Anderson, 62, added: "The site has been like this for ages. I have no idea of what I would like to see here - there will probably be homes."
The site is now vacant, surrounded by a number of old trees. Mr Anderson said: "I quite like it as it is. It would be a shame if they cut the trees."
