Neighbours have shared their concerns after three dogs were rescued from a house fire. Nottinghamshire Fire and Rescue Crews were called to a house fire on Festus Street, Kirby in Ashfield, on Saturday, August 27.
Crews from Ashfield, Mansfield and Alfreton fire stations attended the incident and brought the fire under control. On arrival firefighters saw smoke rising from the property and put on breathing apparatus before entering the building.
The fire was extinguished using a hose reel jet, and they were able to safely rescue the dogs. The three dogs were handed over to the owner fit and well.

Officers from Nottinghamshire Police and crews from East Midlands Ambulance Service also attended the fire. Residents in the area have spoke out about their concern over the fire.
NHS worker, Adrian Severn, 54, lives a street away from the fire. When asked about the fire, he said: "We had a fire on this road a few years ago, at the caravan park. We had some concerns then as they were flames quite high and it woke us up early morning.
"We have had a few spates recently and issues around the area, it's been quiet and then it's just happened all at once." Adrian added: "We have a smoke detector which we do check quite often."
A resident, who did not wish to be named, said: "We just saw the fire engines going down there and that's about it. I didn't see where it was."
Another resident in the area, Kyran Coll, 58, has concerns about what started the fire and hopes guidance will be issued on how to avoid it once the cause is determined. He said: "It will be better when we find out what actually caused it.
"With the way energy bills are going up they could have put candles on in the house, as the way things are going people are going to put candles on now instead. It is concerning what could have started it."
When asked about the incident, another resident in the area said: "I didn't know anything about it. We must not have been in, but I'm glad they're all ok."
Jean Jones, 75, lives a street away from where the fire occurred. When asked if she had any concerns, she said: "We've got smoke alarms, we have always had smoke alarms in just in case anything happens., and we have insurance."
Another resident that did not wish to be named said: "We heard sirens but didn't know where from."
