It is officially Week 1 for the Arizona Cardinals and they are preparing for the Buffalo Bills. At the start of the week, they named their team captains. Seth Cox and I discussed in the latest episode of the podcast how this year’s captains were chosen differently.
Last year, head coach Jonathan Gannon selected six captains. This time, players voted and four were selected — quarterback Kyler Murray, running back James Conner, linebacker Kyzir White and safety Budda Baker.
They were captains last year as well, in addition to D.J. Humphries, who is no longer on the team, and linebacker Dennis Gardeck.
We discussed how the Cardinals will also have game captains chosen each week as well.
After that, we talked about offensive and defensive numbers we hope to see individuals have in 2024. We think Kyler Murray needs 4,500 combined passing and rushing yards and 35 combined touchdowns, while I believe he needs to specifically hit the 4,000-yard passing mark.
With the absence of BJ Ojulari, we talked about how many sacks different players need.
Listen to all that and more in this new edition of the show.
