Federal regulators have recalled about 8,981 nine-drawer dressers because they are unstable unless anchored to a wall, violating a mandatory safety standard Congress created specifically because children were dying under falling furniture.
The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission announced the recall on August 13, 2026. It covers DUMOS Nine-Drawer Fabric Dressers, sold as television stand dressers, and the agency says they pose tip-over and entrapment hazards that can result in serious injury or death to children. No incidents or injuries have been reported.
