Nearly six in 10 Latin Americans disapprove of President Donald Trump's handling of international affairs, even as support for democracy across the region has stabilized after reaching some of its lowest levels in three decades, according to the 2026 Latinobarómetro, an annual regional public opinion survey that has tracked attitudes across Latin America for three decades.
The survey found 59% disapprove of the way Trump is conducting international affairs, compared with 34% who approve. Mexico recorded the highest disapproval at 79%, while Venezuela had the lowest at 33%. Venezuelans were also the most likely to approve, at 61%, while approval fell to 18% in Uruguay.
