18% of Long-Tenured Displaced Workers Were Unemployed in January 2026, US Data Show

Recent US Bureau of Labor Statistics data show that 7.4 million workers aged 20 and over were displaced from jobs between January 2023 and December 2025, including 3.3 million who had held their jobs for at least three years.

Among long-tenured displaced workers overall, 66.1% were re-employed in January 2026, 18.3% were unemployed and 15.7% were not in the labour force.
