Nearly 113,000 Bottles of Amazon Basic Care Extra Strength Acetaminophen Recalled After Customers Report Discolored Tablets

Amazon is pulling nearly 113,000 bottles of Basic Care Extra Strength Acetaminophen from the market after consumers complained that some tablets were discolored. The recall covers 112,932 bottles of the 500 mg pain reliever in 200-count, 500-count, and 1,000-count sizes, according to FDA enforcement records first reported by The Healthyon on Oct. 3, 2026.

The tablets were made in India for Aurobindo Pharma USA Inc. and distributed by Amazon.com Services LLC. The FDA listing gives the reason in one line: "Discoloration: consumer complaints received for discolored tablets." The tablets are supposed to look white to off-white.
