South Korean singer Taeil has departed from the popular K-pop band NCT following allegations of a sexual crime, as announced by his agency, SM Entertainment. The label revealed that Taeil has been accused in a criminal case related to a sexual offense, prompting the decision for him to leave the group.

SM Entertainment emphasized the seriousness of the situation and stated that Taeil will no longer be participating in team activities. The decision was made after discussions with Taeil, and he has agreed to part ways with the group. The label also mentioned that Taeil is fully cooperating with the ongoing police investigation into the matter.

Taeil was a member of NCT, a widely popular South Korean boy band that made its debut in 2016. The group boasts over two dozen members who are part of various subunits such as NCT 127, NCT Dream, and NCT Wish. Taeil was most recently active in NCT 127, contributing to the group's success and global recognition.

SM Entertainment's statement regarding Taeil's departure quickly gained significant attention, accumulating over 45.7 million views in less than three hours.
