NCBI asks people to upload pictures of hazards as part of 'Clear Our Paths' campaign

The National Council for the Blind in Ireland is encouraging people to take photos of obstacles on the streets that affect visually impaired people as part of their ongoing Clear Our Paths campaign.

The charity, which advocates for people with vision impairment, announced yesterday that they were raising awareness of the challenges facing people with sight loss on Irish streets. People are being asked to upload photos of potential hazards to social media using the hashtag #ClearOurPaths until August 19 .

“This campaign is aimed at informing and educating people on the impact that temporary obstacles and shared spaces have on people who have sight loss. Everyday obstacles such as cars parked on footpaths, dog fouling, overhanging branches, wheelie bins etc., can obstruct or injure someone who is blind or vision impaired as they try to navigate past safely,” June Tinsley, head of advocacy at the NCBI, said in a statement.
