After sharing the NBA’s opening night doubleheader earlier in the day, The Athletic’s Shams Charania revealed the league’s 2023–24 Christmas Day slate in a report late Thursday evening.
The Christmas Day games will feature the Bucks heading to MSG to take on Jalen Brunson and the improving young Knicks. Following that matchup, Joel Embiid and the 76ers will travel to Miami to take on last season’s Eastern Conference champion Heat.
After opening their gifts left under the tree, NBA fans will be treated to the Mavericks taking on the Suns followed by a nightcap of the Warriors heading to Denver to take on the reigning NBA champion Nuggets.

The early slate pits four of last year’s playoff teams Eastern Conference against each other. The Miami-Philadelphia matchup is a rematch of the 2022 conference semifinals in which the top-seeded Heat won in six games. The evening slate also offers up some exciting postseason redos. The Mavs’ seven-game Western Conference final series with the Suns from ’22 will be rehashed before the rematch of the Warriors’ ’22 first-round upset of the Nuggets.
