The Warriors have found themselves in a tight battle for playoff positioning at the end of the regular season, and Golden State scored a key victory on Sunday night, cruising past the Sacramento Kings, 109-90.
The Warriors built a huge lead early and coasted in the second half. Golden State won the first quarter 28-14, and increased its advantage to 20 points by halftime. Andrew Wiggins led all scorers with 25 points, and Jordan Poole had 22.
The lopsided nature of the game allowed Steve Kerr to rest his starters and provide heavy minutes for Nemanja Bjelica, Damion Lee and Jonathan Kuminga.
The win kept the Warriors in third place in the Western Conference, one game ahead of the Dallas Mavericks and three games clear of the Denver Nuggets. Golden State has just three games remaining in the regular season: at home against the Lakers, and road trips to San Antonio and New Orleans.
