NBA Twitter reacts to Warriors’ blowout loss vs. Grizzlies to end road trip

After losing three straight games and five of their last six, things didn’t get any easier for the Golden State Warriors on Monday against the Memphis Grizzlies to finish a five-game road trip.

Following a low-scoring battle in the first quarter, the Grizzlies jumped all over the Warriors in the second quarter. Memphis extended a four-point lead into a 26 point advantage before the halftime break.

On the final possession of the first half, Jordan Poole drove to the bucket for a layup that was sent away by De’Anthony Melton. Steve Kerr quickly exploded off the bench to plead for a goaltending call or basket interference. However, the Warriors didn’t receive the call and a furious Kerr was ejected from the game before halftime.

Without Kerr on the bench, and players like Steph Curry, Klay Thompson and Draymond Green ruled out for the contest, the Warriors didn’t have the firepower to complete any type of comeback against Memphis.

Desmond Bane drilled five triples on the way to scoring a team-high 22 points on Monday night. Melton added 21 points on 8-of-13 shooting from field off the bench. Brandon Clarke, Dillon Brooks and Kyle Anderson all notched double-figure scoring efforts as the Grizzlies hammered the Warriors, 123-95.

Jordan Poole led the Warriors with a game-high 25 points on 7-of-17 shooting from the field in 28 minutes. Poole has now recorded 20 or more points in 14 consecutive games.

After losing on Monday, the Warriors now trail the Grizzlies by five games for the No. 2 seed in the Western Conference.

Following the Warriors’ blowout loss to the Grizzlies, the NBA Twitter community exploded with different reactions. Here’s a look at what fans and analysts were saying on Monday night.
