NBA Twitter reacts to reports of Steve Kerr and Warriors agreeing to contract extension

During the 2023-24 season, Steve Kerr was in the final year of his contract with the Golden State Warriors. However, before the final stretch of the regular season, the Warriors reportedly locked up their longtime head coach for the future.

According to Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN, Kerr agreed to a two-year, $35 million contract extension with the Warriors. Kerr’s record-setting contract extension will make him the highest-paid coach in league history at $17.5 million per year.

Since taking over in 2014, Kerr has won 501 regular-season games for the second most wins in Golden State history for a coach. Kerr has won four championships with the Warriors alongside Steph Curry, Klay Thompson and Draymond Green.

Following reports of Kerr’s extension, the NBA community on Twitter weighed-in with reactions. Here’s a look at what fans and analysts were saying on social media on Friday night.
