NBA star Ja Morant shows off his new mansion with matching house for his family next door

NBA star Ja Morant has shown off his brand new mansion, as well as revealing that his family will be living right next door. Since joining the Memphis Grizzlies in 2019, Morant has announced himself as one of the NBA's hottest young stars.

Throughout the 2021/22 season the Grizzlies point guard went from well-backed prospect to superstar, following a string of impressive performances on the court. The 23-year-old has since reaped the rewards from this, after signing a mega-money deal in the off season.

As a result, Morant's contract extension was announced by the Grizzlies last month ahead of the new season, and is the largest deal ever offered to a player by the Memphis-based side.

It was confirmed that the 23-year-old signed a five-year rookie maximum extension worth £165 million ($193m), which could rise to £197 million ($231m). Just a few weeks on from signing his eye-watering new contract, Morant has seemingly already been out spending his big money.

In a video posted on Twitter, the 23-year-old point guard was seen showing off his new mega-size mansion in Memphis, before revealing his family were also living right next door. In the clip Morant can be heard saying to his fans: "Look at my crib," with the impressive looking house in the back drop.

His camera then pans down the road to show the house next door where the NBA star shouts to his dad: "Hey pops, we neighbours now!" Fans were quick to heap praise on Morant after watching the clip online, commending him for his generosity towards his parents.

What do you make of Morant's gesture? Let us know in the comments section below.

One Twitter user wrote: "Ja bought his parents a house so they could be neighbors. That’s honestly pretty awesome. Same thing I would do for my family. He might be one of my favorite players now." This was echoed by another fan, who tweeted: "That's why I love him.

"He demonstrates love. It's a joy to watch it work through the team. Already got tickets for 2 games against the Mavs. So excited!" Whilst another fan added: "The testimony of hard work!!! Congratulations to him and his family! Keep rising King!"

Following friendlies with Milwaukee Bucks and Orlando Magic, the Grizzlies will start their 2022/23 season against New York Knicks on October 20.
