NBA Jam Deluxe Arcade1Up Cabinet Drops to All-Time Low Price

NBA Jam is a 90s sports game that still hits just as hard today. Unless you grew up with the game, it may sound like a bit of a niche sports entry, which it absolutely was when it started out. However, it exploded to mainstream popularity very quickly, earning over $1 billion in its first year. Today, you can relive that glory by snagging the NBA Deluxe Arcade Cabinet from Arcade1Up. It’s currently $100 off on Amazon, and a whopping $150 off on Best Buy

In case you’re unfamiliar, Arcade1Up recreates 3/4 scales of home arcade cabinets for classic retro games. The company has an official license to do so, so you know the overall experience is authentic. They also have recreations of Pac-Man, Street Fighter, and Mortal Kombat. Needless to say, these make for really cool gifts for that gamer in your life who loves niche, nostalgic, and retro games.

A Faithful Recreation Of Three Iconic NBA Games

Something important to note here is that the “Deluxe” designation in this arcade cabinet isn’t just marketing lingo. Earlier Arcade1Up models required separate risers to reach a comfortable standing height, but this one has a single-body construction that’s approximately 5 feet tall. This gets very close to the authentic silhouette of a ’90s Midway cabinet.

The cabinet also features a bright, crisp, 17-inch color screen. It captures the “On Fire!” moments and high-flying dunk chaos beautifully. You also get a gigantic NBA logo on the side, decent quality dual speakers, controls for two players, and neon lights throughout the body. Interestingly, it also features online multiplayer, meaning you can play against the few who also own a similar cabinet.

The cabinet doesn’t just feature NBA Jam; it also includes NBA Jam Tournament Edition and NBA Hang Time. Many will be familiar with the first two, but not necessarily with Hang Time. This one had better gameplay, the class of ‘96 (Kobe, Iverson, Stephon Marbury), and tighter controls. It also captures the 90s boom-bap hip-hop era with its soundtrack. If you’ve never played the game, Arcade1Up’s deluxe cabinet is a truly premium way to experience it for the first time.
