Fresh off his first NBA championship, Nuggets star Nikola Jokić delivered a quote for the ages in an appearance on ESPN’s NBA Today.
Jokić was asked by Malika Andrews about his rise from being drafted No. 41 in the 2014 NBA draft and his selection not even being televised during the pick announcement to becoming a multi-time MVP and now, an NBA champion and NBA Finals MVp. His response was priceless.
“They didn’t believe in the fat boy,” Jokić said with a grin. “It seems like it worked out. Don’t bet against the fat boy.”
