Congratulations to the Golden State Warriors on another NBA championship. They were resilient, fun, etc. But it’s now time to move on from the 2021-22 season.
The 2022 NBA Draft is just days away, didn’t you hear? Or in Johnny Davis’ case, haven’t you seen? The former University of Wisconsin standout guard has been the focal point of Taco Bell advertisements that ran through the NBA postseason.
Besides having a great agent, what landed Davis those deals was his play throughout his sophomore season at Wisconsin. He was named the Big Ten Player of the Year after averaging 19.7 points and 8.2 rebounds per contest. But will that translate to a top-10 pick in the upcoming draft? Tipico Sportsbook had Davis’ draft position set at 9.5, with -250 odds he’s selected after and +200 odds he goes before.
I could very easily see San Antonio picking him at No. 9 overall should Davis crack the top 10 — he’d fit well alongside Dejounte Murray in coach Gregg Popovich’s system. Still, most draft experts and mocks have Davis fitting in with the Washington Wizards at No. 10.
I’ll go with the expert analysis, here.
The Pick: Johnny Davis Over 9.5 (-250)
