The only thing that might have been better than seeing the Boston Celtics force a Game 6 in the NBA Eastern Conference Finals against the Miami Heat on Thursday night was a courtside camera catching a meeting between Bailey Zappe and Christopher Mintz-Plasse.
Movie fans probably know Mintz-Plasse better for his iconic role (yes, I said it) as McLovin in the hit 2007 film “Superbad”.
McLovin might not have been the starring character in the movie, but he was certainly the crowd favorite, which is sort of the role Zappe played last season as the backup quarterback for the New England Patriots. Yes, Mac Jones was the starter, but Zappe-Mania was one of the greatest spectacles of the 2022 season.
Name a more iconic duo than McLovin and Bailey Zappe https://t.co/lGwnVoljtr

Zappe will have an opportunity to compete for the starting quarterback job in training camp. Jones is expected to be under center for a third straight year, but as Zappe showed last season, he’s ready to take the reins when needed.
If given to him in 2023, it could be permanent.
