After a decent launch, NBA 2K23 continues to support the community with this patch, which released last night. That said, if you were hoping for any major additions, fixes, or changes, you’re in for a surprise, as this is as minor as patches get. The game hasn’t been out for a month yet, so it’s fair to expect that a major patch is still in the works to address the game’s biggest issues.

NBA 2K23 update 1.02 patch notes
Shortly after the patch was released, the patch notes dropped on the official NBA 2K Twitter account. This thread addressed the PS5 and Xbox Series X versions of the game with the following list:
- No gameplay changes.
You read that right, according to the developers, there were no tangible changes to the game in this patch, which likely means it focused more on stability, particularly in relation to the online mode. That said, the community has a good record for combing through the game after patches and finding minor tweaks that the developers didn’t think were worth mentioning.
Reddit user, HammerBroski, found a bug fix that was preventing a lot of players from progressing along the main questline in MyCareer. This bug was preventing some people from signing a deal with a shoe brand. Since this was mandatory to progression, you were left unable to progress if you hit it. Still, it seems that this latest patch has fixed this issue, and you can now advertise shoes to your heart’s content.
