Eight sailors assigned to the USS Abraham Lincoln carrier strike group attempted suicide during the group's extended deployment, and none died, Acting Navy Secretary Hung Cao disclosed in a letter to Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand, D-N.Y. The letter, sent Tuesday, reported "a total of eight suicide attempts across the strike group," including the carrier's crew, its air wing, staff, escorting destroyers, and embarked aviation squadrons, Navy Times reported.
