Rising star Hira Naveed has led Australia's women's golf aces to a stunning sweep of victories on day one of the LPGA Tour's multi-million-dollar Match Play event in Las Vegas.
Naveed upstaged superstar compatriot Minjee Lee with a crushing 6 & 4 victory over world No.3 Lydia Ko to vault into the box seat to progress to the round-of-16 knockout stages.
Seeded 62nd in the 64-player field, Naveed produced a brilliant five-birdie blitz mid-round to recover from one down through three holes to slam the door shut on the four-time major winner on Thursday (AEDT).
