Navas, Danilo, Felipe - Nottingham Forest injury update given ahead of Crystal Palace clash

Goalkeeper Keylor Navas has been ruled out of Nottingham Forest’s final match of the season.

The Reds have had rotten injury luck for much of the campaign, and it seems that theme has continued right until the end. Defender Felipe and midfielder Danilo are also doubts for Sunday’s clash at Crystal Palace, with both having been forced off during last weekend’s victory over Arsenal.

Thanks to the three points Forest claimed against the Gunners, Forest secured safety with a game to spare. Navas received treatment in the dying minutes of the 1-0 win and was replaced by Wayne Hennessey.

The latter will start at Selhurst Park as Steve Cooper’s side look to sign off on a positive note. And with Navas’ loan from PSG expiring this summer, he might have played his final match for the club.

“Keylor is out for the game,” Cooper said. “He won’t feature. You saw him come off right at the end of the game with a groin injury.

“Felipe and Danilo both came off as well and are doubts for the game. We’ll see about them. We’ve still got a day or two until the game, so we’ll see how they are.”

Navas put pen to paper at the City Ground in January, following an injury to Manchester United loanee Dean Henderson. He made 17 appearances as the Reds avoided the drop, crucially keeping a clean-sheet against Arsenal to get them over the line.

Taiwo Awoniyi’s goal last weekend made it 10 points from five games for Forest, after an 11-match winless run. There is still the possibility of improving on their current position of 16th as they are just two points behind Bournemouth.
