NTAs 2022 winners: Results revealed as stars gather in London for annual event

After the event was postponed in the aftermath of the Queen’s death, a large crowd gathered in London for the National Television Awards on Thursday night.

The annual event was all set to take place in September just days after Her Majesty’s passing, but was hastily rearranged by organisers as the nation went into a period of mourning.

The National Television Awards are always the biggest night in the British TV calendar, with a vast array of categories for stars and shows to contest. After being hosted by Dermot O’Leary for a number of years, Masked Dancer presenter Joel Dommett once again did the honours this year, with him introducing some “big name” guests, as well as performances from Eurovision hero Sam Ryder and Brit winner Lewis Capaldi.

There was some late drama for the ceremony when Ant and Dec had to pull out of attending due to both of them testing positive for Covid. While they were absent, they did win Best Presenter once again.
