National Highways will not face corporate manslaughter charges over two fatal crashes on a smart motorway, a police force has said.
South Yorkshire Police carried out a "scoping exercise" into potential charges after concerns raised in February last year by a coroner investigating the death of a 62-year-old grandmother.
Nargis Begum died on a stretch of the M1 without a hard shoulder near Woodall Services, east of Sheffield, in September 2018.
