National Highways are urging drivers to check their tyres before they travel this summer. It comes after over 41,500 people broke down last year because of tyre issues.
Tyre problems resulted in over 20% of all breakdowns last year and many of them could have been avoided. National Highways are encouraging people to do basic vehicle checks before setting off on their journey.
The new campaign is set to remind drivers to check their tyres regularly and always before long journeys. Tyre issues were the main reason people broke down on roads last year with 41,560 people doing so.
