Nathan Patterson in optimistic Everton injury update as Scotland star reveals operation 'went well'

Nathan Patterson has provided a positive update after the Everton and Scotland international underwent surgery this week.

Toffees boss Frank Lampard confirmed earlier this month that the former Rangers star would need treatment on an ankle problem.

They have now moved to try and fix the issue quickly. Patterson has had his operation and is now on the road to recovery.

It's been a frustrating period for the Rangers academy graduate, who's big move to the English Premier League in January has only brought a sole Merseyside appearance so far.

The right-back has made that defensive position his own in Steve Clarke's Scotland side, who will hope he recovers in time for June's World Cup play-off matches against Ukraine and potentially Wales.

Wearing a large foot bandage, Patterson said: "Op went well. Thanks for all the nice messages. Back stronger."
