Nathan Patterson will finally make his debut for Everton in their FA Cup clash with Boreham Wood tonight.
The Scotland defender has had to wait patiently since arriving from Rangers in January in a deal that could rise to £16m.
Neither Rafa Benitez or new manager Frank Lampard have deemed him ready as yet although he's been a regular on the bench in recent weeks.
Concerns were raised when Patterson couldn't even get a few minutes in earlier FA Cup clashes with Hull City and Brentford - with Lampard preferring both Seamus Coleman and Celtic flop Jonjoe Kenny.
But now his chance has finally come as he's been named in the starting lineup to face non-league Boreham Wood in the Fifth Round clash at Goodison Park.
Highly-rated Patterson already has six senior Scotland caps under his belt and is Steve Clarke's first choice on the right of his back five.
He'll be hoping to use his rare starting opportunity as a platform to force his way in and help Lampard's team stave off relegation.
They have lost three of the Englishman's four league games and currently sit 17th - just one point ahead of Burnley.
