Nate Diaz hits out at Conor McGregor and Jorge Masvidal after UFC stars arrested

Nate Diaz has hit out at Conor McGregor and Jorge Masvidal after his UFC rivals were arrested in separate incidents.

Masvidal handed himself into the Miami police on Wednesday and was charged with aggravated battery and criminal mischief. Footage emerged of the welterweight contender in handcuffs as he made his way quickly into the station.

He is alleged to have left his victim, who asked not to been named in the police report, with a fractured tooth and an abrasion to his left wrist. Masvidal, who lost to Colby Covington in their grudge match earlier this month, was held on $15,000 bail, reports The Mirror.

McGregor, meanwhile, was arrested in Dublin on Tuesday evening for alleged dangerous driving. The former two-weight world champion's €170,000 Bentley was seized while McGregor was taken to a garda station. He was later bailed and his car returned.

The 33-year-old has been charged with dangerous driving and is set to appear before a district court next month. The charge carries a maximum punishment of a fine up to €5,000 or six months imprisonment, or both, if he is convicted. A spokesperson for McGregor said: "Mr McGregor was driving to the gym when he was stopped by gardai for alleged road traffic violations. He passed the drug and alcohol tests taken at the station."

Upon hearing the news, Diaz took to social media and said: "All [of] you fighters need to stop getting arrested for stupid s***."

Diaz has history with both fighters having won one and lost one of his two clashes with McGregor in 2016. The rivals have frequently been linked with a trilogy bout which could yet take place this year when McGregor returns from the broken leg he suffered in his defeat by Dustin Poirier last summer.

Masvidal beat Diaz in 2019 when they clashed for the BMF belt. The Miami native was ahead on the scorecards when the bout was stopped in the third round due to a cut around Diaz's eye.
