Nat-Gas Prices Settle Higher on Forecasts for Hot U.S. Temps

September Nymex natural gas (NGU23) on Thursday closed +0.029 (+1.12%).

Nat-gas prices Thursday moved higher on a hotter U.S. weather outlook. The Commodity Weather Group said forecasts show above-normal temperatures extending from the Midwest to the Southeast through the end of next week, which will boost nat-gas demand from electricity providers to power air conditioning. Thursday's weekly EIA nat-gas inventories rose +35 bcf, right on expectations, and had a limited impact on prices.
