NASCAR Truck Series Notebook: 2 Teams Make 3 Driver Moves

New full-time NASCAR Truck Series driver Toni Breidinger referred to her promotion as a “pinch me” moment.

A part-time model for Victoria’s Secret and expected to be part of the upcoming Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue, Breidinger agreed to a deal recently with TRICON Garage. She will pilot the No. 5 Toyota next season. TRICON plans to field three machines next season. Breidinger will join Championship 4 contender Corey Heim and newcomer, Gio Ruggiero, who was signed Tuesday.

“Racing full-time with TRICON is a dream for me,” Breidinger said via press release. “It’s been a 15-year process to get here but I’m so excited for this moment and ready to capitalize on it.”

Breidinger, who had four Truck Series starts, competed full-time in the ARCA Menards Series last season, compiling 11 top-10 finishes. She placed P4 in the final driver standings.

Gio Ruggiero Fills Out TRICON’s Trifecta

A veteran of Super Late Models and the ARCA circuit, Ruggiero, 18, signed with TRICON Garage to complete its three-machine roster for 2025. The rookie is slated to run a full-time schedule behind the wheel of the No. 17 Toyota.

“I am super thankful to have the opportunity to run full-time with TRICON in 2025,” Ruggiero said. “I look forward to getting to work with all of the guys on the 17 team.”

A short-track specialist, Ruggiero captured the Winchester 400. He also earned tiles in the Southern Super Series and Montgomery Motor Speedway’s Pro Late Model series. Against ARCA competition, Ruggiero registered seven top-fives and nine top-10s in national series appearances and one win, five top-fives and six top-10s in eight East Series starts.

McAnally-Hilgemann Inks Rookie Connor Mosack

Connor Mosack learned to compete as a road racer and later turned his attention to ovals. The 25-year-old continues to pile up trophies at a variety of tracks. McAnally-Hilgemann Racing recognized his potential and signed him to drive the new No. 81 Chevrolet machine full-time next season. Blake Bainbridge will serve as crew chief.

“I’m ecstatic to start 2025 with everybody at MHR and want to continue this team’s success in the playoffs,” said Mosack, a Charlotte, N.C., native.

Along with appearing on the Xfinity Series last season, Mosack also started nine Truck circuit races for Spire Motorsports and Niece Motorsports. He posted four top-10s, including a season-best P3 at Miami-Homestead  Speedway.

“(Mosack) showed he has the talent and commitment to compete and win at this level,” team owner Bill McAnally said.
